Job Position: Facility Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Prepares documents to put out tenders for contractors
  2. Project management and supervising and coordinating work of contractors
  3. Planning and overseeing building operation/renovation
  4. Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives
  5. Allocating and managing space in the compound
  6. Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health, and security standards
  7. Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including, maintenance, handyman, and pool attendant
  8. Advising on energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  9. Lease management
  10. Managing building maintenance activities
  11. Coordinating cleaning of the pool, parking space, and generator room
  12. Analyses utility bills and energy output
  13. Purchase insurance coverage for the building
  14. Inspect the structure of the building and determine if repairs are needed
  15. Evaluate and adjust energy expenditure
  16. Advise staff on how to reduce utility bill
  17. Implement programs and provide leadership
  18. Perform environmental hazard management/planning and remediation
  19. Perform facility plant equipment obsolescent planning, budgeting and replacement
  20. Maintain vendor relationship
  21. Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree with at least 5 years relevant work experience.

Competencies / skills:

  1. Ability to utilize computerized maintenance management systems
  2. Ability to consider institutional standards for sustainability
  3. Understanding of institutional master plans
  4. Awareness of environmental impact as it relates to chemicals used and fumes
  5. Ability to create systematically planned replacement cycles
  6. Knowledge Of computer usage.
