Job Position: Fiber Engineer

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary

We are hiring a Fibre Engineer for Fibre Connected Solar Base Stations.

As a fibre Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our fibre optic network.

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fibre connections to our base stations.

This is a hands-on role that requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of network quality.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Install, splice, and test fibre optic cables for base stations
  2. Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure network integrity.
  3. Conduct site surveys to plan and design fibre optic pathways.
  4. Collaborate with the network operations team to optimise fibre connections.
  5. Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.
  6. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  7. Respond to network outages and perform emergency repairs as needed.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience as a fibre Engineer or similar role in telecommunications.
  2. In-depth knowledge of fibre optic cable installation, splicing, and testing techniques.
  3. Proficiency with fibre optic testing equipment (OTDR, power meters, etc.).
  4. Familiarity with network infrastructure and base station connectivity.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  7. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites as needed.
  8. Relevant certifications (e.g., FOA, CFOT) are a plus.

Salary
N133,000 – N155,000 Monthly.
