Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a School Certificate (WAEC) or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • 4-10 years HANDS-ON experience in Diesel and Gas Caterpillar Engines/Gen Sets (G3412, G3408,D3512, G3516, G3512, D3304), Sulzer Pumps, Waukesha VHP Engines(L5790GSIU), Cameron/Howden and Siemens compressors, Solar Turbines(Mars 100, Taurus 60, centaur 40) with demonstrated excellent skills in Technical Reports writing.
  • Familiarity or experience in SPDC assets in Tunu Node shall be considered added advantage

Technology / Equipment Competencies:

  1. Skilled at Caterpillar gas/diesel engines troubleshooting and repair (G3412, G3408, D3512, G3516, G3512),
  2. Skilled at Sulzer pump troubleshooting and repair
  3. Skilled at Waukesha Gas Engine troubleshooting and repair
  4. Skilled at use of Caterpillar diagnostic tools (ET)
  5. Skilled at overhaul of Engine Accessories, Engine Clutches, Cylinder heads, Air starter motors and engine cooling systems (radiator and water pump)
  6. Knowledge at carrying out 4K and 8K inspection of Solar Turbines, Siemens/Waukesha Compressors (Inspection and repair/re-kit of suction and discharge valves)
  7. Skilled at Technical report writing

Professional Certifications:

  1. Gas & Diesel Engine Training / certification (would be considered added advantage)
  2. PTW competent (would be considered added advantage).

Technical Skills (Added advantage):

  1. Ability to demonstrate in-depth discipline expertise to the operation and maintenance of rotating equipment in remote locations
  2. Ability to review and analyze all equipment failure pattern
  3. Ability to trends failure pattern and offer paramount solutions.
  4. Ability to work on engines (diesel & gas) and pumps without supervision
  5. Ability to lead and manage technical crew for field callouts
  6. To support other Teams for intervention activities in utility power sub-stations and locations
  7. Ability to carry out troubleshooting on diesel / gas engines and pumps
  8. Ability to carry put repair works on caterpillar engine accessories (starter motor, butterfly assembly, diesel/gas engine fuel systems, emergency shutdown switches etc.)
  9. Ability to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment (Caterpillar and Waukesha Engines, Sulzer pumps, Cameron Compressors compressors)
  10. Ability to execute routine FLM (First Line Maintenance) checks on running equipment
  11. Ability to work in instrument air compressors, and emergency fire pumps
  12. Ability to use / operate power and hand tools and machinery to perform various inspections, repairs and analysis on equipment
  13. Ability to use diagnostic tools during overhaul and troubleshooting (ET,)
  14. Ability to provide technical support to contractor, analyzing, identifying mechanical potential problems.
  15. Experience in Oil and AGG facilities operations

Work Cycle

  1. The work location is Swamp-field based accessible via the Helicopter.
  2. The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to7pm) routine over a 21-day period.
  3. The successful candidate will manage own absences with his supervisor/contractor for suitable qualified covers.
  4. There may be need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments.
  5. Personnel may be required to work extended hours as need may arises.
