  • Job Position: On-Site Field Service Technician – Production Machine
  • Job Location: Benin, Edo

Job Description

  • Tenaui Africa Limited is looking for an experienced, full-time, Printer Service Technician to join our team to service Our machines.
  • Provides operational, maintenance, and networking support for customers through your extensive product and customer skills knowledge. Works closely with Field Service Managers, Branch Service Managers, and other engineers to provide high-level technical support with the seamless technical expertise of Tenaui Africa Limited supported products in accordance with the current Service and Parts Standards. As an on-site Field Service Technician, you will be required to travel to client locations, install new equipment, respond to service requests.
  • In this role, you would be working on-site at customer locations to troubleshoot, maintain and repair printers and copiers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis of mechanical, software, network, and system failures, using established procedures.
  • Services and repairs designated equipment, in assigned territory, to Tenaui Africa Limited standards and specifications.
  • Educate and train customers on replenishment of paper and toner, basic troubleshooting skills, and easy fixes (for example, streaks on copies are often the result of the dirty scanner glass, which is easily “fixed” without a service call)
  • Provide excellent customer service, listening carefully to customer concerns, and addressing issues until the customer is satisfied
  • Update and maintain assigned machines per manufacturer specifications.
  • Attend ongoing training events sponsored by company or machine manufacturers to stay up-to-date on the latest technology and repair options.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of tools and technology needed to complete repairs.
  • Meeting with the customer to determine the nature of the service or repair.
  • Create reports of the customers they serviced that day.
  • Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issues ensuring accurate information and record-keeping.
  • Complete working knowledge and aptitude of multiple product groups. This includes all aspects of troubleshooting and diagnostics. This level is the final comprehensive tier to include workflow analysis, customer relations, and ultimately customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Meets customer demands by providing an efficient, responsive, and accurate flow of service information.
  • Maintains all technical information and Tenaui Africa Limited property assigned and provides direction to less senior engineers in same.
  • Provides the solutions of escalated technical and/or customer service-related problem areas for any territory requested.
  • Create reports of the customers they serviced that day.
  • Follow all of the company’s procedures.
  • Troubleshoot any problems the customers are having.
  • Meet all of the appointments in a given day.
  • Respond quickly to customer problems.

Job Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with relevant recognized formal education.
  • Minimum one-year industry experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of printing/ copying equipment.
  • Canon printer’s experience is a plus.
  • Comparable education and experience in related fields will be considered.
  • This person must have proven customer service/communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a high degree of initiative.
  • Must be positive and outgoing, self-motivated, and committed to building and maintaining strong customer relations.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and push/ pull heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to crouch or kneel regularly while working on equipment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent Communication, Organizational and Operational skills.
  • Professional appearance, excellent communication skills, and right attitude.
  • Fair knowledge of Print Management solutions.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel and work according to a changing schedule.
