Job Position: Finance Analyst

Job Location: Maitama, Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

  1. We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join our team, a mid-level experienced candidate. Who will support the Finance/Accounts Unit with the task of guiding businesses and individuals in decisions about spending money to attain profit?
  2. You will analyse data, evaluate investment opportunities, and provide recommendations to stakeholders/Firms.

Job Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will (but not limited to):

  1. Ensures general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records and schedules are accurately maintained.
  2. Institutes policies and procedures capable of protecting the business resources against waste, fraud, and inefficiency.
  3. Maintains procedures to establish tight control over cash transactions.
  4. Ensures timely follow up of accounts receivable and payable.
  5. Evaluates & implements internal and external audit recommendations & provides feedback to management on results.
  6. Implements budget and forecast preparation schedule by collecting relevant business data and projections from the line departments and provide relevant analyses and feedback.
  7. Provides support, service and advice in all finance matters to the company’s management.
  8. Exercises budgetary controls, accounting & physical controls and credit controls as per laid down procedures and asset management.
  9. Maintains an effective involvement and understanding of the business to contribute to key business decisions within the Company through financial advice and expertise.
  10. Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
  11. Identify trends, advise the company and recommend actions to a senior financial analyst based on sound analysis
  12. Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field
  13. Consult with management to guide and influence long-term and strategic decision-making within the broadest scope
  14. Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function
  15. Other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

  1. B.Sc Degree in Finance, Economics or a related field
  2. A qualified chartered accountant with 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing/export Industry
  3. Proven working experience as a Finance Analyst
  4. Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications
  5. Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
  6. Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
  7. Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis
  8. Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments
  9. ICAN/ ACCA Professional Membership is required.
  10. Must be able to use modern accounting software.

Required Competence:

  1. Technical Accounting Skills.
  2. Mastery of Accounting Principles
  3. Proven work experience as a Finance Analyst or similar role
  4. Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory standards
  5. Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  6. Excellent data collection and analysis skills
  7. Strong attention to detail
  8. Relevant training and certifications.
  9. Multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
