Job Position: Finance Associate (Assistant)

Job Location: Biu, Borno

Job Description

  1. The Finance Associate, Biu will support Christian Aid’s financial management functions at the deep field offices and ensure that adequate financial records are kept at the field offices.
  2. The role will ensure that payment requests for staff in those locations are processed and retired on a timely basis.
  3. The role will also provide Financial monitoring support to the local implementing partners within that axis, reviewing their financial reports and ensuring timely reporting to CAID.
  4. The finance associate will be responsible for preparing financial documentation, petty cash reimbursement, petty cash advances, and coordinating payments to volunteers, etc.
  5. The role is required to be familiar with Christian Aid and donor financial compliance requirements and to ensure that these are operationalized in the field office they are responsible for.

Job Requirements

  1. You must have a Degree in Accounting and 2-3 years of experience in a similar role preferably in the international non – governmental sector (INGO).
  2. You must have experience working within a fragile context.
  3. You must have experience working with institutional donors, particularly WFP.
  4. You must have experience working with Accounting software, preferably SUN. Being a Part Qualified Accountant – ICAN/ACCA is desirable for this role. Understanding of the local language is an added advantage.
