Job Position: Finance Intern

Job Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Description

  1. These strategic locations have allowed NRC greater reach from the north and south parts of the North-East and North Central region and allowed NRC to contribute to bridging the gap between humanitarian aid and development cooperation, including by focusing on equitable access to basic services and strengthening the rights of displaced people and returnees.
  2. In addition to the Country Office and the above-mentioned Area Offices, NRC has sub-office structures in Monguno, Biu, Mubi, Pulka and Gwoza.
  3. We are looking for people who are passionate about helping refugees and people forced to flee.
  4. If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Finance Intern to join our team in Maiduguri, Borno State. You will assist the finance department in the overall finance day to day support functions for the NRC Area North office.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Review supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy according to the payment and procurement checklist thresholds before electronically securing them.
  2. Scan, name, and electronically file ALL supporting documents at the area level as instructed by your supervisor and according to the minimum standards provided for in the Securing of Supporting Documentation procedures.
  3. Inform your supervisor immediately you notice missing documentation from the folders.
  4. Support finance unit to prepare for audits by retrieving and re-archiving documentation.
  5. Any other duty assigned.

Job Requirements

  1. Candidates should possess a B.Sc/HND in Accounting OR Finance /Student / Graduate
  2. Graduating Student with minimum of CGPA 3.5
  3. Knowledge of the context in Borno state.
  4. Ability to work under pressure.
  5. Maintain high standard of ethics and integrity.
  6. Communicating with respects.
  7. Candidates from Borno State preferred.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience will include:

  1. Ability to demonstrate previous practical experience in particular with all Microsoft Office tools.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately, with acute attention to detail
  3. Excellent organizational ability and able to prioritize.
  4. Natural ability to build relationships in a professional environment.
  5. High-level understanding of the importance of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
