Position Overview

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to the overall financial strategy.

This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in managing finances within a manufacturing and export environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial management, export regulations, cost control, and the complexities of international trade.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning: Work with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals. Provide financial forecasts, budgets, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  2. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
  3. Cost Management: Monitor and control costs across the company, particularly in manufacturing and export activities. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or efficiency.
  4. Budget Management: Oversee the preparation and management of the company’s budget. Track performance against the budget and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
  5. Export and Trade Finance: Manage financial aspects of export operations, including currency exchange, trade finance, and compliance with international trade regulations. Ensure efficient and cost-effective financial processes for export transactions.
  6. Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and adherence to all local and international tax regulations. Manage tax planning and reporting to minimise tax liabilities.
  7. Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure the company has adequate insurance coverage and contingency plans in place.
  8. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making.
  9. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  10. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and investments. Optimise working capital and manage debt.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is highly desirable.
  2. Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in finance management (a minimum of 2years in a Leadership role), with a strong background in the manufacturing and export industry.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial management software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of international trade finance and tax regulations.
  4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  5. Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  6. Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a finance team. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  7. Integrity: High ethical standards and a commitment to transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.
