Job Position: Financial Accountant

Job Location: Lekki Phase I, Lagos

Job Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:

  1. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  2. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations governing the hospitality industry.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  1. Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  2. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  1. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
  2. Process vendor invoices, track payments, and manage vendor relationships.
  3. Monitor customer accounts, issue invoices, and follow up on overdue payments.

Tax Compliance:

  1. Ensure timely and accurate filing of all relevant tax returns.
  2. Stay informed about changes in tax laws affecting the hospitality industry.
  3. Financial Analysis:
  4. Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  5. Provide insights into cost management and revenue enhancement opportunities.

Internal Controls:

  1. Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  2. Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance.

Financial Systems Management:

  1. Manage and maintain financial software and systems.
  2. Implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Inventory and Cost Control:

  1. Collaborate with operational teams to monitor inventory levels.
  2. Implement cost control measures to optimize profitability.

Month-End and Year-End Closures:

  1. Coordinate month-end and year-end financial closings.
  2. Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

Audit Support:

  1. Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
  2. Provide necessary documentation and explanations for audit inquiries.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Experience in the hospitality industry
  3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or relevant professional certification preferred.
  4. Proven experience as a Financial Accountant in the hospitality industry.
  5. Strong knowledge of hospitality industry financial practices and regulations.
  6. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
