Job Position: Financial Planning & Analysis Lead
Location: Lagos

Job Role

  1. We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Lead who is an expert in business forecasting.
  2. You’ll be responsible for providing analysis in decision-making in all matters operational, financial, and strategic.
  3. A strong candidate combines a strong analytical mindset with technical ability and excellent people skills.
  4. Your responsibilities will include providing financial insights and projections to the accounting team.
  5. You will provide reliable data and analysis to be used in decision-making and planning.
  6. You will be a strategic thinker with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  7. You will have strong research experience, an analytical mind and outstanding presentation skills.
  8. You will be highly analytical, a self-starter, results-oriented and able to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
  9. This is a full-time, permanent and long-term position reporting to the CFO with access to MAX’s executive team.

What You’ll Do

  1. Serve as a liaison for the investor relations team, managing the earnings guidance scenario modelling, including executive presentation, Q&A support, and ad hoc analysis (special projects)
  2. Perform Market research: Determining the size of a given market, leaders, laggers and potential opportunities in which the organisation may have a competitive advantage
  3. Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made
  4. Provide FP&A finance support to the accounting team related to productivity, demand planning, reporting, and metrics promptly
  5. Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions
  6. Partner directly with the finance team to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews
  7. Work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organisation
  8. Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made
  9. Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
  10. Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organisation

What You’ll Need

  1. Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, Master’s preferred
  2. 7+ years in finance, accounting or a related area in a fast-paced global organisation
  3. ACA or ACCA
  4. Sage 300 experience or comparable finance system
  5. General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
  6. Experience developing financial reports and metrics
  7. Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
  9. Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  10. Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
  11. Experience in Mobility/Fintech/Gig-economy/eCommerce
  12. Strong Project and Program management skills
  13. Global leader and thinker with the ability to make quick strategic decisions
  14. Highly energetic, self-motivated & proactive
