Job Position: Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst

Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Description

  1. Assist to prepare and manage budget and forecasts for business units.
  2. Update detailed operating and financial models, working closely with multiple departments.
  3. Analyze and monitor financial and operational performance. Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analyses (actuals versus budgeted/forecasted)
  4. Responsible for and taking ownership of the financial model and develop improvements to the financial model.
  5. Identify trends, issues, and address problems to ensure quality financial results.
  6. Drive financial considerations in decision-making framework to improve business profitability and capital efficiency.
  7. Assist with monthly closes and coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate financial results and reporting.
  8. Assist with scenario modeling efforts and participate as a key member within the finance team.

Job Requirements

  • BA, BS, or B.Com degree required (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Statistics) – First class graduate strongly preferred
  • ICAN/ACCA/CFA or other relevant qualifications in view
  • 1 – 2 years of business, finance or other relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Excel formulas and function.
  • High aptitude and interest in financial modelling and financial analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong research abilities, and an understanding of basic accounting
  • Familiarity with Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of an inter-departmental team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in financial services sector is an added advantage.
  • Must be data-driven and take initiative in developing new measurements and metrics.
