Torilo Academy is a tech training school that aims to impact knowledge. We are currently looking for competent & well knowledgeable tutors that can train our students on a number of tech courses. At Torilo Academy, we are committed to equipping young Africans with in-demand digital skills, leveraging a stylised curriculum that contains topics that are industry generated, hence, making our alumni future ready. Since the beginning of our operation in 2019, we have trained and raised a dynamic demography who have gone ahead to impact work spaces and create credible innovations.

Our training courses span across design and development, such as Product Design, Software Development, Graphics Design among others. With the supernova speed at which we move, we are set to change the African digital narrative..

Job Position: Front-End Development Tutor

Job Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Teaching our Frontend Development course curriculum and supporting our students throughout the training program
  2. Managing, motivating, and facilitating class sizes of 10 – 15adult students with poise and professionalism
  3. Communicating complex concepts effectively and efficiently to learners and stakeholders from a variety of different backgrounds
  4. Using digital tools to facilitate the learning and ensure a smooth flow of the class, as well as employing strong time and people management skills to manage the materials and the class at the same time
  5. Reviewing, evaluating, and grading students’ homework assignments
  6. Conducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals for exam preparation
  7. Diagnosing student needs through active listening techniques and questioning strategies
  8. Recognizing different learning styles and student preference.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years Experience as a tutor in facilitating Frontend Development classes.
  • 3-4 years experience using React and other related frontend technologies.
  • Be passionate about providing mentorship, direction, and sharing your knowledge by interacting with students on a daily basis.
  • Strong proficiency in modern Javascript, ReactJS, HTML & CSS.
  • Experienced in building nice looking User Interfaces with REST APIs using ReactJS.
  • Familiarity with frontend build pipelines and tools
  • Should have a live web app built with React.
