Job Position: Frontend Developer

Job Location: Remote (from anywhere in Nigeria)

Job Description

  1. We are looking for a great JavaScript developer who is proficient with React.js.
  2. Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing them following well-known React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
  3. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain.
  4. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.
  5. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Developing new and improving user-facing features using React.js
  2. Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
  3. Developing a flexible and well-structured front-end architecture, implementing new and existing APIs
  4. Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
  5. Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
  6. Developing new highly-responsive, web-based user interface
  7. Constructing visualizations that are able to depict vast amounts of data
  8. Working and collaborating with the engineering team
  9. Working with product team and UI/UX designers
  10. Learning and understanding user interactions
  11. Writing unit and integration tests

Job Requirements

  1. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree qualification with 3 – 7 years relevant work experience.
  2. Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  3. Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  4. Knowledge of basic Python/Django/ Django REST Framework is a big advantage
  5. Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)
  6. Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript (>= 2015)
  7. Experience with data structure/component building libraries (e.g., Immutable.js, storybook.js) is a plus
  8. Knowledge of isomorphic React/ Javascript is a plus
  9. Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  10. Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  11. Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  12. Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  13. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  14. A knack for benchmarking and optimization
  15. Familiarity with code versioning tools (such as Git)
  16. Good time management skills
  17. Great interpersonal and communication skills.
