Job Position: Geoscience – Geophysicist III

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. Supports and enhances 2D/3D seismic and wellbore acquisition programs across company.
  2. Will interface with the operating groups, other technical specialists, and vendors to provide 2D/3D seismic and borehole seismic survey acquisition solutions which safely meet organizational goals and commitments. May serve as a Formation Evaluation Specialist.

Job Responsibilities
In addition to the Level 1 and 2 tasks and responsibilities, a Level 3:

  1. Experienced with post-stack and pre-stack seismic inversion / AVO
  2. Experience in seismic attribute analysis to define structural and depositional environment/facies
  3. Strong experience with carbonates
  4. Application of geophysics to unconventional plays experience.

Scope of Work specific to this Assignment

  1. Cross equalize deepwater 4D seismic baseline and monitor volumes (full and angle stacks) to take out any remaining non-production related differences post migration.
  2. Convert the calculated time-shift volumes to a relative velocity change (DVV) volume.
  3. Combine the DVV and quadrature difference volumes to generate a Broadband Timelapse (BBT) volume.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Geotechnical or Geophysical required
  2. Previous experience in a closely related position
  3. Geology & Geophysical interpretation skills
  4. Advance Petrophysical analysis skills in Siliciclastic settings
  5. Competency in computing applications (Geology & Petrel)
  6. Strong knowledge of the Petroleum Geology of the local area at a basic minimum
  7. Geoscience computing skills
  8. Good team player, ability to work effectively in and with diverse work groups
  9. Strong mentoring and coaching skills
  10. Experience in interpreting gravity and magnetic data.
  11. Sound knowledge in seismic processing and seismic acquisition operations.
  12. Strong structural geology background with experience in all tectonic systems, in all geologic environments and all reservoir types.
