Job Summary
- The Gym Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the gym facility, ensuring high levels of member satisfaction, staff performance, and operational efficiency.
- This role requires strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills to ensure the gym meets its fitness, financial, and operational targets.
- The Gym Manager will also lead initiatives to promote health, wellness, and member engagement.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall management of gym operations, including staff supervision, customer service, scheduling, and maintenance.
- Ensure all gym equipment and facilities are well-maintained, clean, and safe for use.
- Recruit, train, and manage gym staff, including personal trainers, front desk personnel, and cleaning staff.
- Monitor member satisfaction and respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, or complaints.
- Implement programs to boost membership sales, retention, and overall client engagement.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics including attendance, membership sales, and operational costs.
- Enforce gym rules and ensure all members and staff adhere to safety and hygiene protocols.
- Coordinate fitness classes, personal training sessions, and promotional events.
- Develop and manage budgets, inventory, and purchasing of gym supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the gym and special offerings.
- Stay updated on fitness industry trends and implement relevant improvements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fitness facility management or a similar role.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with fitness equipment, safety regulations, and wellness trends.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency in gym management software and Microsoft Office tools.
