Job Position: Head, Modern Trade & E-Commerce
Location: Lagos

Job Summary

The Head of Modern Trade & E-Commerce will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive sales, market share, and profitability in modern retail and digital marketplaces.

This role demands a strong understanding of premium beverage retail dynamics, digital commerce trends, and the ability to lead high-performing teams.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute integrated Modern Trade and E-Commerce strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and market share targets.
  2. Build and maintain strong partnerships with key modern trade customers, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, speciality liquor retailers, and e-commerce platforms.
  3. Negotiate annual trade terms, promotional agreements, and joint business plans with strategic accounts and online partners.
  4. Lead execution of in-store and online visibility, activations, and merchandising in line with brand guidelines.
  5. Work closely with Marketing to design both trade and digital campaigns that resonate with premium spirits consumers.
  6. Analyse sales data, online metrics, and market insights to identify growth opportunities and optimise performance.
  7. Manage, coach, and develop the Modern Trade & E-Commerce team to deliver against KPIs.
  8. Monitor competitor activity and market trends (both offline and online) to inform strategic decisions.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  2. Minimum of 7–10 years’ sales experience, with at least 4 years in a senior Modern Trade and/or E-Commerce leadership role, preferably in premium beverages or FMCG.
  3. Strong network within retail, liquor, and e-commerce platforms.
  4. Proven track record in negotiation, trade marketing, e-commerce growth, and driving profitable sales
  5. Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
