Job Position: Head of Accounts

Job Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Description

  1. General accounting duties including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations.
  2. Assist in Preparing Financial and other regulatory reports to management and Regulatory agencies.
  3. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the CFO in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department

Job Responsibilities

  1. Monthly payroll management (xls), postings and reconciliation
  2. Postings and monthly amortization of prepaid expenses, accruals & liabilities, (including agreement of excel template with SAGE balances
  3. Posting of inventory items consumed in SAGE and agreement of excel file
  4. Foreign currencies transactions postings in banks, including lender’s payment (Including monthly excel template reconciliation of balances with SAGE
  5. Suppliers’ payment and management in SAGE, Also the monthly proof
  6. Management of foreign services invoice (Postings of TA invoices/inter-group transactions and relationship)
  7. Monthly posting of AMSCO transactions
  8. Monthly IFRS 9 and regulatory loan impairment computation
  9. Reconciliation of staff loan: MIMAT vs SAGE- Monthly
  10. Monthly revaluation in SAGE
  11. Supervision of Banking Service Reconciliation officer and Intermediate Accountant
  12. Daily DQC follow-up

Reports:

  1. Monthly Fin control list- part report
  2. Monthly proof of GL: 184105
  3. Monthly CBN report
  4. Quarterly FS (xsl)- Board report.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualification is a plus
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in accounts or a similar financial role. Experience with financial software and tools is often a plus.
  • This role involves processing a large volume of transactions, so attention to detail is essential to ensure accuracy in financial records and documentation.
  • Effective communication is key when liaising with vendors, internal departments, and other stakeholders.
