Job Position: Head of Engineering
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

The Head of Engineering is responsible for managing the technical execution of real estate development projects.

This includes overseeing architectural, infrastructural and structural design reviews, construction planning, site supervision, contractor management, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects while maintaining quality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities
Project Planning & Design Oversight:

  1. Review and approve technical drawings, designs, and construction plans.
  2. Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and consultants.
  3. Ensure all designs comply with local building codes and regulations.

Construction & Site Management:

  1. Oversee construction projects from inception to completion.
  2. Monitor site activities to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to timelines.
  3. Manage contractors, subcontractors, and engineering staff.

Budget & Cost Management:

  1. Prepare and manage engineering budgets for all projects.
  2. Work with procurement teams to evaluate vendor and material costs.
  3. Implement value engineering strategies to control cost without compromising quality.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff.
  2. Facilitate collaboration across project management, operations, and legal departments.
  3. Conduct performance reviews and skill development plans for engineering team members.

Reporting & Compliance:

  1. Prepare regular progress and status reports for executive leadership.
  2. Ensure all engineering work meets environmental and regulatory compliance standards.
  3. Conduct project audits and implement corrective measures where necessary.

Target / Metric:

Project Delivery Timeliness:

  1. ≥ 90% of projects delivered on or before scheduled deadlines

Budget Adherence:

  1. ≥ 95% of projects delivered within the approved budget

Construction Quality Index:

  1. Based on defect rate and rework frequency (Target: ≤ 5% rework rate)

Health & Safety Compliance:

  1. Achieve zero (0) major incidents or violations reported on-site

Engineering Team Performance:

  1. Achieve≥ 80%average performance score from team appraisals

Regulatory Compliance Rate:

  1. Achieve 100% project completion with full statutory approvals

Innovation/Cost Saving Initiatives:

  1. Implement ≥ 2 engineering solutions that reduce cost or timeline per year.

Salary
N300,000 Monthly.
