Job Position: Head Of Operations
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:

1. Oversee daily operations across all Tingo AI Hub departments, ensuring alignment with company goals and KPIs.
2. Implement systems, processes, and performance metrics that drive efficiency, scalability, and accountability.
3. Supervise the management of the 2MW AI factory (and future 20MW expansion), ensuring uptime, reliability, and optimal GPU utilisation.
4. Coordinate internal resources to support TingoGPT, Tingo AI Radio, and other AI product initiatives.

Strategic Execution:

1. Translate the CEO’s strategic vision into executable operational plans.
2. Manage annual operating plans, budgets, and resource allocation.
3. Develop policies and procedures to streamline operations across technical and non-technical teams.
4. Lead the planning and rollout of new facilities, infrastructure, and technology deployments.

Process Optimisation:

1. Identify and implement automation, AI-driven process improvements, and workflow optimisation.
2. Monitor and analyse performance data to improve productivity and service delivery.
3. Ensure operational compliance with safety, regulatory, and data governance standards.

Team & People Management:

1. Build and lead cross-functional teams focused on operational excellence, logistics, and program delivery.
2. Mentor department heads and ensure strong communication across the organisation.
3. Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and innovation.

Partnerships & Vendor Relations:

1. Manage relationships with key technology vendors, contractors, and service providers.
2. Oversee procurement, logistics, and supply chain management for infrastructure and hardware needs.
3. Support partnership execution with universities, enterprises, and government stakeholders.

Financial & Administrative Oversight:

1. Monitor budgets, operational costs, and financial performance.
2. Support the finance team in developing forecasts, investment plans, and reporting.
3. Ensure efficient utilisation of resources across all programs and departments.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role in a technology, AI, or data infrastructure environment.

Skills:

1. Proven track record of scaling operations in fast-growing organisations.
2. Strong project management, strategic planning, and process improvement skills.
3. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
4. Experience managing technical facilities (e.g., data centres, innovation labs, or R&D hubs) is a strong advantage.
5. Familiarity with Nigerian and global technology ecosystems.
