Job Position: Head of Payments

Job Location: Lagos (Remote First) (Hybrid)

Job Description

  1. As the Head of Payments, you will be instrumental in driving our strategy and payment partnerships to the next level while promoting the growth and success of our B2B payment operations and checkout solutions within our customer network.
  2. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial payment processes, exceptional relationship management skills, and a proven track record of delivering innovative payment solutions to customers in the B2B sector.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop the Go-To-Market strategy for the product
  2. Identify opportunities to enhance DuploPay as a product to meet the specific needs of businesses and drive revenue growth.
  3. Partner with the Head of Sales to develop and manage a high-performance sales team, drive commercial growth and provide strategic insight for the expansion of the business.
  4. Work in close collaboration with Product Managers, Engineering Leaders, and Management to ensure the product is competitive and scaling.
  5. Drive the development and implementation of tailored payment and checkout solutions that address the unique challenges of businesses.
  6. Lead on Duplo Pay’s expansion beyond Nigeria
  7. Liaise with banking partners, payment schemes, lending partners, and suppliers on operational matters
  8. Stay abreast of industry developments in payment services and best practices
  9. Evaluating, recommending, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to develop new strategies and technologies
  10. Ensure that our transaction reconciliation is done accurately and efficiently and meets all external and internal requirements
  11. Support compliance and other teams as needed
  12. Produce periodic cash forecasts to ensure funds are available for payment processing
  13. Implement robust risk management processes to address the complexities of payments within the mid-market and enterprise segments.
  14. Utilize data analytics to monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization within the mid-market and enterprise client base.
  15. Anticipate the evolving payment landscape and emerging regulations that could impact the product and the business.

Job Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of payment industry trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Robust understanding of the Nigerian Payment sector
  • 8+ years relevant experience in payments, fintech
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing payment strategies to drive revenue and business growth
  • Familiarity with payment gateways, processing systems, checkout solutions, and emerging payment technologies
  • Proven experience in driving the expansion of payment capabilities into new markets and geographies
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market data, performance metrics, and customer feedback to derive actionable insights and make data-driven decisions
  • Proven experience with strategic partnerships and stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
