Job Position: Head of Pharmacy
Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Job Description
- The Pharmacy Director will be responsible for the overall operation of the pharmacy department.
- The position requires extensive contact with the administrator, medical staff, nursing service staff, hospital staff.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department to ensure that the pharmacy has 24-hour coverage by a pharmacist.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with hospital policy.
Other Responsibilities
- Oversees and assists with unit-dose preparation.
- Maintains an adequate drug supply.
- Coordinates the pharmacy function with the nursing service and the medical staff.
- Inspects nursing units once a month for outdated medication.
- Serves on the pharmacy and therapeutic committees.
- Serves on the infection control committee.
Job Requiements
- B.Sc in Pharmacy.
- Must have license to practice.
- 7 – 10 years of experience in a hospital setting with management and supervisory responsibility.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Must be organized and able to develop a planning approach of program implementation.
- Must exhibit a high degree of professional excellence characterized by sound independent judgment, initiative, and a high standard of ethics.
