Job Position: Head, Supply Chain Management
Location: Head Office, Lagos

Job Summary

The Head of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for the development and implementation of effective supply chain and procurement strategies, processes and procedures to drive rapid improvement of the functions across the business.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development and implementation of a strategy for the function, including performance and cost.
  2. Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.
  3. Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards.
  4. Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain and procurement processes.
  5. Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals.
  6. Monitor supply chain logistics to make sure they run smoothly.
  7. Maintain supply chain inventory and records.
  8. Evaluate and report on KPIs.
  9. Train and guide employees.

Success Enablers

  1. Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes and procurement procedures.
  2. Working experience with relevant software (e.g. SAP MM)

Leadership and Functional Capability

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply or Business Degree.
  2. Related professional certifications are most required (The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply)
  3. A minimum of 20 years’ experience in a similar role within Cement Manufacturing or FMCG Businesses.
  4. Strategic Thinking, Planning, Financial and Project Management skills
  5. Job knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as Lean Six Sigma.
  6. Experience working in a multiple-location organisation or Group of Companies will be an advantage.
