Job Position: HR and Administration Team Leader

Job Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Description

  1. These strategic locations have allowed NRC greater reach from the north and south parts of the North-East and North Central region and allowed NRC to contribute to bridging the gap between humanitarian aid and development cooperation, including by focusing on equitable access to basic services and strengthening the rights of displaced people and returnees.
  2. In addition to the Country Office and the above-mentioned Area Offices, NRC has sub-office structures in Dikwa, Monguno, Biu, Mubi, Pulka and Gwoza.
  3. We are looking for people who are passionate about helping refugees and people forced to flee.
  4. If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Human Resources and Administration Team Lead to join our team in Maiduguri, Borno State.
  5. You will be responsible for the overall Human resources and administration day to day support functions for the NRC Area North office.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Supervise the HR/Admin team at the area office level; responsible for individual meetings, development, and review of the team performance
  2. Ensure that staff records in all field offices in the area are up to date and filed appropriately in the HR personnel file archive
  3. Responsible for implementation of HR policies and procedures
  4. Responsible for managing the NRC people Solution at the Area Level
  5. Ensure that all recruitments at the area level are followed up from start till finish
  6. Support hiring manager with new staff orientation and induction process.
  7. Coordinate the team’s daily work tasks, improving processes and developing the team
  8. Support staff with the tools & procedures for performance management
  9. Oversee all administrative responsibilities accommodation booking, facility management, utilities, store management e.t.c
  10. Take the lead in vacancy announcements and longlisting of requested positions according to the approved organogram
  11. Any other duty assigned

Job Requirements

  1. University Degree in Human Resources / Business Management or relevant field knowledge of the context in (North East)
  2. Knowledge of the local language (Kanuri & Hausa) – will be an added advantage
  3. Good communication & interpersonal skills are required
  4. Team Management is key to this role
  5. Customer service-oriented with a focus on the team environment
  6. Excellent HR Administration skills
  7. HR Generalist Experience including Employee relations with the ability to identify potential employee issues
  8. Ability to identify and resolve potential problems or issues and take necessary actions to prevent them from developing.
