Job Position: HR Assistant

Job Location: Lokoja, Kogi

Job Description

  1. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant HR.
  2. The HR Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department in various functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  2. Coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including preparing paperwork, conducting orientations, and facilitating training sessions.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR database, including personal information, attendance, and performance evaluations.
  4. Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
  5. Handle employee inquiries and concerns regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Support the HR Manager in conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to employees on their performance.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local labor laws and company standards.
  8. Collaborate with department managers to address employee relations issues and resolve conflicts in a fair and consistent manner.
  9. Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness.
  10. Perform other HR-related duties as assigned by the HR Manager.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Proven experience working in an HR role, preferably in a distribution or logistics company.
  3. Sound knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and regulations.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software.
  8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  10. High level of integrity and professionalism.
