Job Description
- We are a corporate services firm that renders company secretarial/legal advisory/human resources & governance consulting services on an outsourced basis; looking to hire a young, smart and self-motivated lawyer/HR Executive who will join the team in providing qualitative and innovative services to our esteemed clients.
- Our ideal candidate must be very confident, trustworthy, reliable, confident, very well-organized with experience in company secretarial, legal and HR services.
Job Responsibilities
- Draft and review a wide variety of legal agreements.
- Provide legal advice/ opinion on corporate legal issues and business matters.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings.
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Provide the full spectrum of company secretarial services to external clients on an outsourced basis.
- Ensure the proper safe keeping and update of the company registers, statutory books, and corporate seal.
- Managing clients’ cases from start to finish.
- Ensure clients’ adherence to extant laws and regulations.
- Monitor the maintenance of the registers and other records required to be maintained and/or filed by the organization under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA 2020).
- Draft guidelines, policies, and procedures documents.
- Assessing the company’s/clients’ corporate governance practices and providing advice on how to improve them.
- Incorporate new businesses and develop the governance structures.
- Assist in identifying, analyzing, and evaluating legal risks and developing risk mitigation strategies to protect the company/client’s, assets, and stakeholders’ interest respectively.
- Conduct land & title searches as well as perfection of title.
- Provision of the full spectrum of human resource consulting to external clients which includes:
- Responsible for recruitment, placement and onboarding.
- Driving the process of developing and deploying effective induction programmes for new hires.
- Responsible for drafting HR policies and implementing/communicating HR policies, that promote a healthy work environment and comply with labor regulations.
- Ensuring accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in digital or electronic format.
- Working with relevant line managers to set SMART performance objectives for staff and also track staff progress.
- Responsible for discussing employees’ career development paths with line managers.
- Responsible for payroll administration as well as the implementation of employee compensation/benefits package.
Job Requirements
- A Graduate Degree in Law from a reputable university (minimum of Second Class Upper).
- Proven 2 – 4 years post NYSC experience
- Member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
- Additional certification in HR and payroll administration would be of added advantage.
- Good knowledge of HR best practices and Labour Law.
Required Skills:
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
