Job Position: Human Resource / Administrative Manager

Job Location: Maryland – Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description

  • The HR and Admin Manager reports to the General Manager with a dotted reporting line to the Managing Director and will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction for the Administration and Human Resource function.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop HR Strategies
  2. Training and Development
  3. Function in an active and influential business advisory role within management to drive business results.
  4. Prepare Admin/HR reports – monthly, annual.
  5. Serve as a link between management and employees
  6. Advice line managers/supervisors on current employment legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure HR policies, procedures and standards are applied consistently and equitably.
  7. Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  8. Perform more difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes and grievances, dismissal of employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
  9. Interfaces with local government agencies
  10. Vehicle and bike maintenance
  11. Plant and Machinery maintenance
  12. Creates, maintains, and monitors effective controls on equipment and asset inventory.
  13. Develop proposals for amendment and/or the introduction of new policies, procedures, and practices.
  14. Provide specialist employee relations advice and guidance.
  15. Facilitate company-wide communications and manage internal information resources and networks.
  16. Maintain employee benefits programs
  17. Attract, retain, and motivate staff.
  18. Manage the Employee Engagement and Retention Process.
  19. Oversee the recruitment process and ensure candidates fit the role and company culture.
  20. Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the company.
  21. Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system.

Job Requirements

  1. Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  2. Male preferred (for gender balance)
  3. Proven working experience as HR/Admin manager
  4. People oriented and results driven.
  5. Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
  6. Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  7. Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  8. Competence to build HR/Admin department from a the beginning
  9. In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
