Job Position: Human Resource Officer

Job Description
- We are seeking a highly experienced Human Resource Management Officer to join our esteemed training Institute. The HR Officer will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our human resources functions to ensure the success and growth of our organization.
- As a key member of our team, the HR Officer will be responsible for a diverse range of HR activities, working closely with management and employees to foster a positive work culture and drive organizational excellence.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Human Resources, with a proven track record of success in handling various HR functions, such as recruitment, talent management, training and development, employee relations, and performance management.
- They should have a comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations, ensuring that all HR practices align with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- This role demands a strategic mindset, allowing the HR Officer to assess the organization’s HR needs, design effective HR strategies, and implement initiatives that promote employee engagement and professional growth.
Job Responsibilities
Recruitment:
- Carry out job analysis: Conduct job analysis involves studying and documenting the duties, responsibilities, and requirements of each job position within the organization. It helps in understanding the skills, qualifications, and experience needed for each role.
- Job adverts: Creating and posting job advertisements to attract potential candidates for vacant positions within the organization. This includes writing clear and concise job descriptions and determining the appropriate channels for advertising the openings.
- Recruitment: Managing the recruitment process, which includes sourcing candidates, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating with line managers to select the best candidates for the organization.
- Induction: Conducting orientation programs for new employees to help them become familiar with the organization, its culture, policies, and procedures. Induction aims to facilitate a smooth transition for new hires into their roles.
Competency Management:
- Competence evaluation: Assessing the skills and competencies of employees to identify areas where they excel and areas where they might need further development or training. Assist with development of performance management processes and their implementation
- Organizational knowledge evaluation: Measuring and evaluating the knowledge and expertise of employees in relation to their roles and the overall goals of the organization.
- Learning and Development: Creating and implementing training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees. This includes identifying training needs, designing training materials, and coordinating training sessions.
- Organizing tutor training: Organize training programs for tutors and instructors in the form of train the trainer and continuous professional development programs. Ensure that tutors, instructors and trainers are up to date with modern training methods and developments.
Corrective Action Process:
- Discipline: Handling employee disciplinary issues and ensuring that disciplinary actions, when necessary, are carried out in accordance with company policies and employment laws.
- Remuneration and Compensation: Managing the compensation and benefits packages for employees, which includes salary administration, bonuses, incentives, and other benefits like health insurance and retirement plans.
- Employee relations: Promoting a positive work environment and managing employee relations issues. This involves addressing employee grievances, resolving conflicts, and fostering good communication and cooperation among team members.
- Payrolling and benefits administration: Managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, and overseeing the administration of employee benefits, such as vacation leaves and sick leaves.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related field
- Membership of and certifications from professional bodies such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM etc.
- A minimum of three years’ proven experience as HR officer or any other role.
Skills Required:
- Excellent communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, Problem solving, analytical, negotiation Skills
- Good knowledge of employment/labour laws
- In-depth knowledge of job analysis
- In-depth knowledge of concise job description writing
- In-depth knowledge of reward management
- Very good understanding of performance management
- Conversant with the best possible and most appropriate channels for advertising job openings
- Must be adaptable and emotionally intelligent
- A good understand of staff training and development processes
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in MSOffice and knowledge of HRMS will be an advantage.
