Job Position: Human Resource (HR) / Legal Officer

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Responsibilities

  1. Preparing job descriptions, advertising vacant positions, and managing the employment process.
  2. Conducting legal analysis and researching legal matters.
  3. Providing advice on legal matters.
  4. Drafting legal opinions, memoranda, and briefing documents.
  5. Reviewing legal material.
  6. Formulating formalities regarding settlements of disputes.
  7. Monitoring the implementation of the legal clauses.
  8. Experience in the law field.
  9. Strong analytical and research skills.
  10. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  11. Ability to work well within a team and individually.
  12. Ability to work long hours when needed.
  13. Orientating new employees and training existing employees.
  14. Monitoring employee performance.
  15. Ensuring that all employees are organized and satisfied in their work environment.
  16. Overseeing the health and safety of all employees.
  17. Implementing systematic staff development procedures.
  18. Providing counseling on policies and procedures.
  19. Ensuring meticulous implementation of payroll and benefits administration.
  20. Communicating with staff about issues affecting their performance.
  21. Ensuring accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or in the Legal Field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in human resources.
  3. Labor Relations certification – may be advantageous.
  4. Able to engage in meaningful negotiation and resolution.
  5. Knowledge of employment legislation.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Protecting the interests of all employees.
  8. Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
