Saro Oil Palm Limited is a subsidiary of Saroafrica International Limited (‘Saro’) an indigenous private sector player with 3 decades of experience in Nigeria. Saro Oil Palm Limited plans to gradually develop an integrated oil palm plantations of up to 22,000 ha with complimentary industrial units of mills and refinery over the next few years. This role is intended for Saro Oil Palm Limited, Urhonigbe Forest Reserve, Orhionmwon LGA, Edo State.

Job Position: Human Resources (HR) Executive

Job Location: Urhonigbe, Edo

Job Description

  1. The HR Executive is charged with the responsibility of delivering comprehensive HR Services to the business.
  2. He/She will oversee all human resources activities within the business and ensure that they align with the business goals and objectives.
  3. This will include implementation of all HR Strategic Initiatives that have been designed by the Group on key areas like recruitment, training and development, performance management, employee relations etc.
  4. The HR Executive will serve as an advisor and partner to the SBU leadership on all people-related issues.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Work with the Managing Director to strategically plan HR initiatives that will benefit the company and encourage more efficient and beneficial work from employees.
  2. Develop, manage, and oversee the functional HR budget and manage expenses within budget allocations.
  3. Lead all activities related to employment, legislation, HR systems, practices, procedures, compliance, day-to-day development, and HR initiatives.
  4. Continually educate employees on company policies and keep employee handbook current.
  5. Maintain HR records, including employee files, compensation, and benefits information.
  6. Oversee the recruitment and hiring process report on its performance.
  7. Manage employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with regulations.
  8. Monitor employee performance and stay abreast on company climate and culture, ensuring it stays positive and productive.
  9. Administer compensation and payroll programs and ensure accurate processing of payroll.
  10. Provide HR support and guidance to managers and employees.
  11. Develop and maintain positive relationships with government agencies and employee unions.
  12. Promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues.
  13. Understand and adhere to all pertinent labor laws.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of a second Class upper in a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields
  2. Relevant HR certifications that demonstrate knowledge/possession of current HR competencies are required (e.g. Associate, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Senior/Professional in Human Resources, Human Resources Business Professional). like PHR, SPHR, CIPM, MBA will be an added advantage.
  3. Minimum of 6 Years experience relevant experience in HR
  4. Goods knowledge and use of Microsoft Office packages & ERP systems (Knowledge of Navision& SharePoint will be an added advantage).

  12. Age Requirement: 28 – 35 years.
