Job Position: Human Resources Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage the recruitment and selection process.
  2. Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
  3. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
  4. Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization.
  5. Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
  6. Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  7. Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  8. Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  9. Liaises with managers and supervisors on the regular identification of training needs of employees and prepare yearly training plans.
  10. Manages staff leave, prepares annual leave plan, Monitors and enforce implementation of leave plan
  11. Staff file management, ensure completion, correctness and regular update.
  12. Processes applications for loans, salary advances, and other benefits.
  13. Formulate HR Policy, Procedure Manual and Staff Handbook.
  14. Develop salary structure, job grading evaluation
  15. Design, implement, classification of salary.
  16. Develop HR standards, reports, templates, scorecards and metrics.
  17. Manage HR projects, issues, and make recommendation to managements.
  18. Manage payroll processes, salary deduction arrangements, Over-time, Bonus and Incentives etc.
  19. Ensure timely Preparation and follow-up on the Remittance of Statutory/Required Deductions such as PAYE, Pension, NSITF, ITF, Insurance, etc.
  20. Maintain relationship with third party providers of HR services e.g. HMO, pension, NSITF etc., ensure efficient and satisfactory service delivery.
  21. Reconciliation of third-party data (entry, exit visà-vis cost of service).
  22. Liaise with the various departments and units to ensure an accurate and timely processing of staff benefits-medicals, per diem, exit benefits, leave allowance etc.
  23. Review and interpret policies and regulations, and advise HODs on the proper procedure in handling personnel matters and issues.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum educational standard: Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum Working Experience: 3 – 5 years experience (Factory related experience)

Required Knowledge, Skills & Attitude:

  1. Proficient use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  2. Proven working experience as HR Manager or other Senior HR Executive role.
  3. Understand how to implement effective performance management systems – assess competency and culture fits in employee
  4. People oriented and results driven
  5. Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
  6. Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  7. Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  8. Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  9. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  10. In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
  11. Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
