Job Position: Human Resources (HR) Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • A Human Resources (HR) Officer is responsible for managing every aspect of the employment process, including orientation and training new staff members.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Supports recruitment by posting job ads, shortlisting candidates, co-ordinating interviews and support the overall recruitment and hiring process.
  2. Supports the documentation, orientation and onboarding of new employees.
  3. Conducts verification, background and reference check on all employees within seven 7 days of resumption.
  4. Process payroll, pension and benefits in compliance with policy.
  5. Implements the vacation calendar and ensure compliance.
  6. Supports the performance appraisal process and employment confirmation.
  7. Manages the approved training calendar and co-ordinate training activities.
  8. Maintains an efficient document management system.
  9. Maintains updated personnel records.
  10. Co-ordinate employee enrolment in benefits programs such as health insurance, group life insurance, pension etc.
  11. Provides assistance and information to employees on HR related matters.
  12. Maintains an updated HR database.
  13. Manages exit processes including exit interviews and payments of terminal benefits.
  14. Co-ordinates all HR events.
  15. Plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems.
  16. Monitor inventory of office supplies with attention to budgetary constraints.
  17. Monitor costs and expenses.
  18. Develop and maintain an efficient filing and archive system.
  19. Liaise with service providers and vendors.
  20. Responsible for ensuring facility management, including utility operation and maintenance
  21. Guide and ensure compliance with all local and laws of the Federal legislation.
  22. Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  23. Implements health and safety standards across the bank.
  24. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  1. HND / B.Sc in Human Resources or Social Sciences.
  2. Evidence of completion/ exemption of/from NYSC.
  3. Minimum of four 4 years’ experience in Human Resources
  4. Prior experience in similar role or capacity
  5. Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
  6. A strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR regulatory compliance Skills:
  7. Strong leadership, supervisory and people management skills.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skill.
  9. Aptitude in problem-solving.
  10. Excellent negotiation and communications skills.
  11. Administrative and managerial skills.
  12. Analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
  13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  14. Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently.
  15. Proficient in the use of MS Office suit
  16. Candidate must be willing to resume immediately.
