Job Position: Import Operations Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Handle port operations for clearing of goods.
  2. Have relations with Freight Forwarders, Shipping Lines, Customs, and other relevant agencies.
  3. Opening of LC ( Letter of Credits ) for imports.
  4. Look for possibilities to decrease taxes and handle all documentation should be handled for Banks.
  5. Consultation of the clients regarding insurances, duties and taxes
  6. Monitoring of the shipments to ensure the compliance of regulations
  7. Search for possibilities to reduce taxes
  8. Maintenance of customer relations and participation in the organization’s sales activities
  9. Assessment of new marketing and sales opportunities as well as presentation of those estimations to the respective managements
  10. Develop and implement trading strategies for the group.
  11. Manage relationships with key customers and suppliers.
  12. Manage, train and mentor staff.
  13. Overview and support key decision makers in processing, merchandising and trading.
  14. Take overall responsibility for coordinating the logistics of trading activities, taking into account available infrastructure and operational priorities of the service providers.
  15. Prepare and review monthly profit & loss for department and report to management.

Job Requirements

  1. Import Business experience of 5 to 10 years
  2. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s is preferred.
  3. Well-developed communicational skills and a customer orientation
  4. Knowledge about budget management, international trade and taxations
