Job Position: Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Instrumentation Engineer with hands-on experience in the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of industrial instrumentation systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of PLC systems, process controls, sensors, actuators, and other automation components critical to industrial operations.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain various industrial instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level, etc.).
  2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems.
  3. Troubleshoot faults in control systems, including PLCs, sensors, transmitters, and actuators.
  4. Interpret and create technical drawings, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.
  5. Ensure proper integration of instruments with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
  6. Support the commissioning of new equipment and systems.
  7. Maintain records of maintenance activities, calibration reports, and system documentation.
  8. Work closely with the electrical and mechanical teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
  9. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  10. Provide technical support during shutdowns, startups, and emergencies.

Job Requirements

  1. Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  2. 4–7 years of experience in an industrial environment (e.g., oil & gas, manufacturing, power, or process industries).
  3. Strong knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.).
  4. Hands-on experience with industrial sensors, actuators, control valves, and transmitters.
  5. Good understanding of industrial communication protocols (HART, Modbus, Profibus).
  6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  7. Familiar with safety standards and hazardous area equipment (ATEX, IECEx preferred).
  8. Experience with SCADA/HMI systems.
  9. Knowledge of calibration procedures and using calibrators (e.g., Fluke).
  10. Familiarity with automation and instrumentation in specific sectors like oil & gas, water treatment, and manufacturing.
