Job Position: Internal Auditor
Location: Lagos

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. You will play a critical role in safeguarding assets, enhancing compliance, and ensuring operational efficiency across our institution.

 Job Responsibilities

  1. Conduct periodic audits of operational, financial, and compliance activities
  2. Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, risk management and governance frameworks
  3. Ensure strict adherence to CBN regulations, policies, and statutory requirements
  4. Review loan documentation & lending processes for compliance and accuracy
  5. Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports with actionable insights
  6. Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations
  7. Support fraud detection and investigations when necessary

Who We’re Looking For

  1. 4–6 years’ experience in internal auditing (preferably in a Microfinance Bank or regulated financial institution)
  2. Strong knowledge of the CBN regulatory framework, risk controls, and public sector lending
  3. Proven expertise in audit methodology, reporting, and root cause analysis
  4. Excellent analytical, investigative, and communication skills
  5. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  6. Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIA (strongly preferred)
