Job Description
- We are urgently seeking a confident and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our Purchase Department in a retail setting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring transparency, compliance, and efficiency in our purchasing processes. Job Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct internal audits of purchase transactions and processes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and report on any deviations or irregularities in the purchase process.
- Identify potential risks in the purchase department and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate the adequacy of risk management processes.
- Maintain detailed and organized audit documentation.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting findings and recommendations.
- Work closely with the Purchase Department to understand processes and address concerns.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to internal auditing.
- Propose improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and controls in the purchase process.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in internal auditing.
Job Requirements
- HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably in a retail environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with retail purchase processes.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
