We are seeking a highly experienced Senior WordPress Developer to join our team full-time as we launch and scale our dynamic rental marketplace platform. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of hands-on experience with WordPress, deep expertise in custom development, and a proven track record managing complex, high-traffic sites.

Key Features:

  1. Private Chat: Direct, secure messaging between owners and tenants.
    Owner-Initiated Payment Requests: Flexible payment flows initiated by property owners.
  2. Escrow Payments: Funds are held securely until move-in, protecting both parties.
  3. In-Platform Advertisements: Targeted ad placements for relevant services and offers.
  4. Stripe Connect Integration: Seamless, compliant payments and payouts with built-in KYC for owners.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the ongoing development, optimisation, and maintenance of our WordPress-based marketplace
  2. Migrate and manage WordPress installations on Hostinger VPS (Nginx/OpenLiteSpeed)
  3. Develop, customise, and troubleshoot themes and plugins to meet evolving business needs
  4. Integrate and manage Stripe Connect for multi-vendor payments, onboarding, and KYC
  5. Ensure the platform is SEO-friendly and technically optimised for search engine crawling and indexing
  6. Oversee performance optimisation (caching, database, object cache, CDN)
  7. Implement and maintain security best practices
  8. Collaborate with product, design, and marketing teams to deliver new features and improvements
  9. Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues as they arise

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. 8+ years of professional WordPress development experience
  2. Advanced PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS skills
  3. Deep experience with WooCommerce and marketplace plugins
  4. Proven expertise in VPS management and website migration (Hostinger preferred)
  5. Strong knowledge of Nginx and/or OpenLiteSpeed configuration
  6. Hands-on experience with Stripe Connect (onboarding, payouts, KYC)
  7. Technical SEO and web performance optimisation skills
  8. Experience with custom theme and plugin development
  9. Solid understanding of WordPress security best practices
  10. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  11. Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team

Preferred

  1. Experience working in the EST time zone
  2. Familiarity with REST APIs and third-party integrations
