Job Position: Inventory Officer
Location: Peter Odili Road, Rivers
Job Description
- Manage order process, fulfilment and returns.
- Raise Purchase Orders and send to suppliers
- Manage the ALL vendors registration process
- Ensure that received products are accurate and up to company standards.
- Record and update incoming and outgoing materials and conduct periodic stock inventories.
- Ensure stock availability and foresee supply and demand, with the intention to avoid overstocking and running out of stock.
- Maintain an accurate record of both trading and non-trading items, while noting down the date of acquisitions and receipts, item count and details, issues encountered, etc.
- Receive, open, and unpack cartons or crates of merchandise, checking the invoice against items received
- Stamp, attach, or change price tags on merchandise, referring to the price list
- Stock storage areas display new or transferred merchandise
- Ensure smooth storeroom operations and keep the stock room
- Verify and monitor expiry date and maintain FIFO
- Submit weekly supply reports as they relate to defects, demand, and quantity
- Make suggestions for new product offerings based on consumer research
- Support and stand in for the Store manager whenever the need arises
- Adhere to all store policies, processes and procedures.
- Design and implement an inventory tracking system to optimise inventory control procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.
- Evaluate new inventory to ensure it’s ready for shipment.
- Analyse different suppliers to obtain the best cost-effective deals.
- Reports to the Store Manager and the Managing Director.
- Undertake any further duties as specified by the Management.
Skills and Competencies
- A Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- General bookkeeping and business finance skills and knowledge
- Excellent organisational and strong influencing skills.
- Ability to handle customers’ requests and complaints with grace
- Demonstrate strong management and leadership abilities
- Effective multitasking and communication skills
- Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques.
- An analytical mind with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to work and learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks in an assertive, efficient and timely manner
- Interest and ability to continue learning about market standards and changes in trends.
Salary
N130,000 – N150,000 monthly.
