Job Position: Team Lead, Investment Banking

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Deal Execution: Responsible for overseeing the execution of financial transactions, which may include mergers and acquisitions, equity/ debt capital market transactions. Coordinate teams and ensure that transactions proceed smoothly.
  2. Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and serve as a primary point of contact and provide financial advice tailored to the client’s needs.
  3. Financial Analysis: oversee the development of complex financial analysis, including financial modeling and business valuation.
  4. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor junior team members, such as analysts and associates. They provide guidance, set priorities, and ensure that the team’s work aligns with the overall strategy.
  5. Deal Origination: May be involved in bring new business to clients, crafting presentations that showcase the firm’s capabilities and ideas for potential deals.
  6. Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating risks associated with transactions is crucial. AVPs are responsible for ensuring that risk factors are considered in decision-making.
  7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with corporate governance expected in investment banking business systems and processes, and regulatory requirements
  8. Deal Structuring: Help structure complex financial transactions, designing the terms and conditions of deals to optimize outcomes for clients.

Job Requirements
Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics or Statistics, or any similar field.
  2. Post-graduate and/or professional qualifications such as an MBA, CFA, MSc. in Finance, ACA, and ACCA

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial services, out of which 4 years must have been in core investment banking.
  2. Extensive experience in the execution and origination of Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Mergers and Acquisition transactions.
  3. Proven experience in identifying and dealing with complex issues in management areas.
  4. Experiences in any of the BIG 4s are strongly encouraged to apply

Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Financial modeling skills
  2. Strategic thinking and decision-making ability
  3. Strong business origination and execution capabilities
  4. Good client engagement experience
  5. Considerable knowledge of structuring transactions for the SEC and NGX approval.
  6. Knowledge of raising capital through long term investment vehicles, such as debts and equities.
