Job Position: IT Network Officer
Location: Ndola Cement, Zambia

Job Description

  1. Assist with and/or lead network installations, expansions, troubleshooting and support
  2. Able to configure and administer network equipment, i.e, routers, switches and FortiGate firewalls
  3. Ability to troubleshoot network failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long-term efficiency of networks
  4. Plan and implement LAN, WAN and VLAN infrastructure, including patch panel termination, fibre installation and splicing
  5. Monitor network performance and recommend ways of improvement
  6. Conduct Network failover tests for the primary and secondary links to identify gaps, evaluate network speeds and identify areas of improvement
  7. Work closely with the Group to schedule upgrades and maintenance without disturbing normal operations
  8. To research network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.

Requirements

  1. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology-related field of study.
  2. At least 2 – 4 years’ experience in network systems with a technical combination of structured cabling, network design, support and monitoring
  3. Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN and VLAN design and implementation
  4. CCNA certification.
