Job Position: Laboratory Assistant, Quality Department
Location: Ibese Plant, Ogun

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist in the analysis of raw materials, intermediate and finished samples.
2. Collect samples according to the approved quality plan.
3. Carry out preliminary preparation of samples collected for X-ray analysis.
4. Carry out sieves and moisture analysis of samples.
5. Prepare slides and make microscopic observations.
6. Ensure cleaning of sample collection points.
7. Assist in managing the inventory of chemicals and laboratory items, including glassware, in the laboratory stores.
8. Escalate any identified deviations from target quality standards promptly to the supervising Technologist.
9. Recommend and implement improvements to the plant’s laboratory operations and maintenance of lab equipment and instruments.
10. Ensure effective housekeeping in the laboratory.
11. Assist in the maintenance of ISO quality management systems in the unit.
12. Assist in the preparation of periodic lab analyses and activity reports.
13. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head, Quality Control & Assurance or relevant supervising Officer.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

1. National Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent, with 5 years relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies:

1. Good problem-solving and analytical skills
2. Good knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment
3. Ability to handle samples and operate lab equipment
4. Ability to pay attention to details
5. Good communication skills
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
