Job Position: Legal & Compliance Manager

Job Location: Warri, Delta

Job Description

  1. The Legal Compliance Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive legal services on all matters such as Litigations, Contracts Management, Compliance, Insurance, Data Protection, Document Control and Internal Security; concerning the company.
  2. He /She will be responsible for all matters concerning the company’s operations, legal and statutory issues.
  3. The person will be responsible for document control and manage the legal department of the organization.
  4. Will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal services on all matters concerning the company’s operations

Job Responsibilities

  1. Board Administration/Management.
  2. Documents Control/Correspondences.
  3. Governance and Risk Management.
  4. License Management.
  5. Insurance policy/Compliance management.
  6. Data protection.
  7. Structure the organizations policies, contract documents to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Monitor and guide organizations through compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  9. Continuously improve contract management processes and document control system to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  10. Ensure Policies are kept up to date and refer to the appropriate committee for approval.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements to ensure due regard is paid to the specific business interests of the company.
  12. Supervise, draft and review specialized company contracts such as equipment purchase, SLAs, letter and legal documents with suppliers and customers etc.
  13. Identify, defend and protect the intellectual property of the company through all legal and statutory means.
  14. Guide the company’s Board and Committee members & provide sound counsel during decision making.

Job Requirements
The Job Holder Is Expected To Possess The Following:

  1. He/She must have the minimum academic qualification of LL.B and BL.
  2. He/She must have 8 years of relevant post call experience & labor practices, preferably a 3years in the healthcare industry.
  3. Membership of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) is desirable.
  4. Masters will be an added advantage, MBA preferable
  5. He/She should either be a Chartered Mediator or Chartered Arbitrator.
  6. He/She must possess an understanding of merger & acquisition
  7. He/She must possess the working knowledge of law of insurance.
  8. He/She must be grounded in the Data Protection Act.
  9. He/She must understand Contract review & Negotiations.
  10. He/She must possess persuasive/negotiating skills.
