Job Description
- A legal officerplays a vital role in managing legal matters related to real estate transactions, contracts, property acquisitions, and compliance.

Job Responsibilities
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, leases, and purchase/sale agreements.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to the company’s management and other departments on matters related to real estate transactions, land acquisition, property development, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with Nigerian real estate laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Assist in negotiating and structuring real estate deals, including property acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- Manage and resolve legal disputes or issues arising from real estate transactions, including litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of legal contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel, government authorities, and regulatory bodies when required.
- Stay updated with changes in real estate laws and regulations in Nigeria and provide recommendations for compliance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.): Obtain a Bachelor of Laws Degree from a recognized Nigerian university or an institution with equivalent accreditation.
- Nigerian Law School: Successfully complete the mandatory one-year program at the Nigerian Law School and pass the Bar Final Examinations to become eligible for legal practice in Nigeria.
- 3 – 5 years work experience.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian real estate laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
- Excellent drafting and reviewing skills for legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address legal issues and provide practical solutions.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and legal analysis.
- Good negotiation and communication skills to interact with stakeholders, clients, and legal professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Research and legal writing skills to conduct thorough legal research and produce well-reasoned legal opinions.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools and resources.
