Job Description
- Our Client, Imose Technologies Limited- an indigenous Mobile Phone manufacturing company, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Officer to oversee the effective and efficient clearing of goods at Sea & Airports and ensure seamless logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring logistics activities to meet company goals and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Goods Clearing:
– Manage the end-to-end clearing process for imported goods at Sea & Airports.
– Liaise with customs officials, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure timely clearance of goods.
– Handle all required documentation, such as shipping manifests, customs declarations, and duty payments. - Logistics Coordination:
– Develop and implement efficient strategies for the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods.
– Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, and transportation companies to ensure smooth operations.
– Monitor goods movement to minimize delays and reduce costs. - Compliance and Regulations:
– Stay updated on customs regulations, tariffs, and government policies affecting imports.
– Ensure strict compliance with all Nigerian import laws and standards. - Team Management:
– Supervise and guide logistics staff, including clearing agents and drivers.
– Provide training and support to improve team performance. - Reporting and Optimization:
– Track and analyze key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
– Prepare regular reports on logistics operations, costs, and challenges.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Educational Requirements:
– A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
– Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional – CSCP) are an added advantage. - Work Experience:
– At least 5 years of experience in logistics management, with a focus on clearing and forwarding operations.
– Previous experience managing logistics at Sea & Airports is highly desirable. - Technical Skills:
– Strong understanding of Nigerian customs procedures, shipping documentation, and import/export regulations.
– Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Core Competencies:
– Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
– Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
