Apple & Pears Limited was incorporated in the year 2012 as an Agro Allied & Food Industry to produce soya meal, concentrate and finished feed for the poultry industry, and refined edible oil, mayonnaise, ketchup, salad cream, vinegar, custard powder and Chocolate Drink for the Nigerian market.

The company has invested millions of dollars in land, building, construction of infrastructural facilities and machinery, with one goal in mind and that is to have an integrated facility encompassing the complete value chain of the soya bean business, from sourcing, processing, extraction, refining, packaging and distribution of a wide range of premium products. In response to environmental concerns, we have installed solar panels to partially power the plant on solar energy, also we have a state-of-the-art effluent treatment plant to treat and reuse the water discharged during the various production processes.

Job Position: Machine Operator
Location: Sagamu, Ogun

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join our production team.

The successful candidate will operate and maintain Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) and sachet packaging machines, ensuring efficient production, product quality, and compliance with safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Operate VFFS and sachet packaging machines efficiently.
  2. Monitor production processes and ensure continuous machine uptime.
  3. Carry out troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs on machines to reduce downtime.
  4. Conduct quality checks to maintain product standards.
  5. Ensure accurate filling, sealing, cutting, and calibration.
  6. Keep daily production and maintenance records.
  7. Adhere to safety, hygiene, and GMP standards.
  8. Support the production team during changeovers and cleaning.

Performance Expectations (KPIs)

  1. ≥ 90% machine uptime during shifts.
  2. Achievement of daily/weekly production output targets.
  3. ≤ 2% defect/rejection rate on finished products.
  4. Accurate and timely submission of production logs.
  5. Zero safety incidents or violations.
  6. ≤ 3% material wastage.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. SSCE / OND / B.Sc. in Engineering or related technical field.
  2. 1 – 3 years proven experience operating VFFS and sachet machines in FMCG.
  3. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing machines is mandatory.
  4. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of packaging machines.
  5. Good knowledge of machine calibration and safety practices.
  6. Physically fit and able to work long shifts.
  7. Must reside in Sagamu, Ogere, or Mowe.
