Job Position: Machinist (Operator)
Location: Ijebu Imushin, Ogun

Job Summary

  1. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join our team.
  2. The role requires operating various machine tools and equipment to produce precision parts and tools.
  3. Also, machine operations and maintenance techniques, as well as being adept at interpreting blueprints and schematics.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that the lathe, milling machine and drill press are clean and in a good working order, electrical and mechanical.
  2. Ensure that the Lathe, milling machine and drill press are regularly lubricated.
  3. Ensure that all machining tools provided, drills bits, cutting bits, collars, boring bars are in a good state ready to be used.
  4. Must be able to read technical drawings.
  5. Must be able to make correct use of supplied measuring instruments, Ferrier’s, Dial gauge, and Micrometres to fabricate required parts.
  6. Ensure that the cutting fluid of the lathe, milling machine and drill press is regularly.
  7. Regularly give feedback to the technical manager on the condition of the machine tooling
  8. Measurement of Press plates in the workshop to determine if the press plates need to be machined back to the minimum and maximum specifications as per the drawing.
  9. Machining of the press plates back to the required dimensions
  10. Cleaning and kitting of press plates after tolerances have been checked or reworked.
  11. Fabrication of shafts, bushings, and parts using the lathe, milling machine, and drill press.
  12. Accurate measurement and machining of parts that need to be made in-house
  13. Ensure that the best environmental practice is observed after job completion.
  14. Ability to work with the maintenance and breakdown teams to reduce downtime.
  15. Ability to work on flexible timing (weekend if needed) to ensure that broken-down machines are fixed. (manufactured and fitted)
  16. Report all machine functionality to the Technical Manager where resources are needed.

Job Requirements

  1. Qualification: B.Sc, OND / HND in Metal Construction and Fabrications.
  2. Experience: 5 years and above.

Abilities / Requirements:

  1. Set up, operate, and maintain machine tools.
  2. Review blueprints and drawings to understand the requirements.
  3. Measure and mark raw materials.
  4. Program mills, drills, and lathes.
  5. Inspect and test finished products.
  6. Maintain equipment.
  7. Maintain production and quality logs.
