Job Position: Managing Director – Hotel Operations
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

The Managing Director (Hotel Division) will provide overall leadership, strategy, and management of the hotel business.

This role requires a seasoned hospitality professional with proven industry experience, strong brand development skills, and the ability to deliver sustainable profitability while ensuring world-class guest experiences.

Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Brand Positioning:

  1. Define and execute the hotel’s vision, mission, and long-term growth strategy.
  2. Build and position the hotel brand to become a market leader in Abuja and beyond.
  3. Drive innovative marketing campaigns, digital visibility, and PR initiatives.

Financial Performance & Business Growth:

  1. Oversee budgets, financial planning, and P&L management.
  2. Drive revenue growth through occupancy optimisation, events, and partnerships.
  3. Ensure cost efficiency and operational profitability.

Guest Experience & Service Excellence:

  1. Implement international service standards to enhance customer experience.
  2. Monitor guest satisfaction and ensure issues are addressed promptly.
  3. Champion continuous improvement in service delivery.

Operational & People Management:

  1. Provide leadership to all hotel departments (front office, F&B, housekeeping, sales, etc.).
  2. Recruit, train, and retain top-performing hospitality staff.
  3. Establish efficient systems, processes, and compliance with hospitality regulations.

Partnerships & Business Development:

  1. Forge strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and event organisers.
  2. Expand revenue streams through strategic collaborations and hospitality packages.
  3. Represent the hotel at industry events and tourism forums.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Financial Performance:

  1. Revenue growth: Minimum 15% YoY revenue increase
  2. Profitability (EBITDA margin): Maintain/improve margin at 20–25%
  3. RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room): Achieve industry benchmark or above

Guest Satisfaction:

  1. Guest rating/satisfaction scores: 90%+ positive reviews across platforms (TripAdvisor, Google, Booking.com)
  2. Repeat guest ratio: Minimum 30% repeat bookings

Brand Visibility:

  1. Social media & digital engagement: 20% quarterly growth in online reach & engagement
  2. PR & partnerships: Minimum 5 high-value partnerships annually (corporate/event/travel agencies)

Operations:

  1. Occupancy rate: Maintain an average of 75–80% occupancy
  2. Service delivery standards: <5% service complaints unresolved per month

HR & Leadership:

  1. Staff turnover rate: Keep below 10% annually
  2. Employee engagement & training: 100% of staff undergo annual training & appraisals

Compliance & Governance:

  1. Adherence to hospitality regulations: Zero compliance breaches
  2. Internal controls & audits: Quarterly audit reports with no major red flags

Qualifications & Experience

  3. Proven track record in hotel brand building, revenue growth, and operational leadership.
  4. Strong knowledge of hospitality financial metrics (RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy).
  5. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
