Job Description
- The Marketing and Sales Officer at The Animal Project Group Limited will play a key role in promoting the company’s products, developing sales strategies, and maintaining customer relationships to meet business goals.
- The officer will be responsible for driving growth in both the wholesale distribution and retail sales channels for food and non-food products for pet animals.
- This position demands creativity, market insight, strong communication skills, and a focus on consumer satisfaction while protecting the company’s integrity.
Job Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies tailored to the company’s unique product offerings and target market.
- Identify key marketing opportunities and trends in the pet food and non-food product industry, ensuring the company stays ahead of competitors.
- Manage and monitor marketing campaigns across online and offline platforms to increase brand visibility and product awareness.
- Design promotional materials and campaigns that resonate with target audiences, focusing on customer engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with management to align marketing strategies with the company’s goals for growth and customer satisfaction.
Sales and Revenue Growth:
- Develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth from distribution to retail channels.
- Meet or exceed sales targets by identifying new sales opportunities and converting leads into customers.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, including new market segments, customer needs, and potential collaborations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring repeat business and customer loyalty.
- Work closely with the warehouse and logistics team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences, ensuring that the company’s offerings meet or exceed expectations.
- Establish and maintain a customer database, tracking client interactions, preferences, and purchasing behavior to personalize future interactions.
- Resolve any pre-sale questions or after-sale issues to ensure a positive customer experience, maintaining the company’s high standards of customer service.
- Provide timely follow-ups on sales leads, inquiries, and customer feedback to enhance customer satisfaction.
Online and Digital Marketing:
- Manage and maintain the company’s website and social media platforms, ensuring that content is engaging and up-to-date.
- Utilize digital marketing tools such as SEO, SEM, and social media advertising to increase online visibility and generate leads.
- Track and analyze the performance of online campaigns using analytics tools, providing reports to management on the effectiveness of each strategy.
- Respond promptly to online inquiries from potential and existing customers, offering information and support on products.
Product Knowledge:
- Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the company’s product range, including the benefits and unique features of each item.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and new products in the market to maintain a competitive edge.
- Provide product recommendations to customers based on their specific needs, enhancing their overall experience and satisfaction.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct regular market research to assess consumer trends, competitor strategies, and potential market segments.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to adjust marketing and sales strategies accordingly.
- Identify new product opportunities or potential areas for business expansion based on research findings.
Sales Reporting and Forecasting:
- Track sales performance on a regular basis and provide management with detailed reports on revenue, customer acquisition, and product performance.
- Forecast future sales based on current trends and market conditions, helping to guide inventory management and product replenishment.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements in sales and marketing strategies to optimize profitability.
Event and Promotions Management:
- Plan and execute marketing events such as product launches, trade shows, or promotional campaigns to drive brand awareness.
- Coordinate retail promotions, discounts, and special offers in collaboration with the management team to boost sales.
- Work with collaborators, suppliers, and influencers in the pet industry to co-host or sponsor relevant events and campaigns.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the logistics, and inventory teams to ensure that marketing efforts align with product availability and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to align marketing and sales strategies with stock levels, minimizing stockouts or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with the account team to ensure that pricing strategies align with profitability goals and market conditions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably within the retail or distribution sector.
- Experience in the pet industry or a related consumer goods sector is an added advantage.
Requirements & Skills:
Sales and Marketing Expertise:
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing and sales strategies.
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior, particularly in the pet food and non-food product markets.
- Ability to identify sales opportunities, generate leads, and close deals effectively.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools such as SEO, social media advertising, and email marketing.
- Strong understanding of CRM systems and experience in managing customer databases.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with sales reporting software.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively interacting with customers, partners, and team members.
- Strong presentation skills for product demonstrations, client meetings, and marketing events.
Negotiation and Persuasion:
- Skilled in negotiating contracts and deals, with the ability to persuade potential customers and close sales.

Salary
