Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc – Our subsidiary, Niger Mills Company Limited, is a food production company located in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. It was founded in 1967. Niger Mills is involved in food production, specifically flour milling. The company’s products include wheat flour, semolina, and wheat bran, sold under the brand name “Lion”.

Job Purpose: Mechanic – Power Plant
Location: Calabar, Cross River

Job Objective

To achieve plant maintenance goals and ensure reliability of Generators and public power supply facility in line with OEM standards, reduce reactive maintenance and improve proactive maintenance.

The Job

  1. Carry out checks, maintenance, and repairs on other diesel-operated engines, such as forklift, payloader, and Fire Hydrant pump.
  2. Keep track of OEM maintenance requirements and ensure compliance
  3. Actively involved in all HSE provisions and requirements on site.
  4. Ensure a constant power supply to the facility.
  5. Efficient monitoring of all caterpillar engines.
  6. Efficient monitoring of all power supply facilities – Public power supply line & equipment.
  7. Carry out maintenance and repairs on Caterpillar diesel engines and other power generation engines on-site.
  8. Utilise predictive maintenance tools for diagnosing and troubleshooting engine faults (CAT -Et, Oil analysis).
  9. Ensure proper record keeping of all activities – event log, fault record, maintenance record, hourly readings.
  10. Attend to all technical issues and maintain equipment in optimum working condition.

Qualifications

  1. 5 O’ level Credits including English & Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
  2. Technical qualification would be an added advantage.

Experience:

  1. Two years of cognate experience with proficiency in Diesel Engine Maintenance.

The Person Must:

  1. Good written and oral communication skills.
  2. Ability to pay attention to details.
  3. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  4. Ability to read and interpret data on HMI (Machines and Panels).
