Job Position: Mechanical and Electrical Engineer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • This role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for students and staff.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintain HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems to ensure optimal temperature and air quality within the school buildings.
  2. Oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
  3. Manage the maintenance of school equipment and appliances that require electrical or mechanical expertise.
  4. Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical problems promptly to minimize disruptions to school operations.
  5. Ensure that all mechanical and electrical systems meet safety and compliance standards.
  6. Identify opportunities for energy conservation and recommend improvements.
  7. Assist in the development and management of the mechanical and electrical department’s budget.
  8. Provide training to staff on safety procedures and the proper use of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Professional engineering license
  3. Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is desired.
  4. Relevant work experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  5. High-level computer literacy skills
  6. Proficiency in engineering software, including CAD programs, simulation tools and data analysis software is an added advantage.
  7. Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and energy conservation practices.
  8. Adherence to ethical standards and professional conduct.
