Job Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. Designs, executes, and manages tests to collect statistically significant data to ensure technical specifications and product requirements are met
  2. Responsible for mechanical part selection taking into consideration obsolescence, availability, design costs, mechanical products, and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.
  3. Evaluates and confirms mechanical systems and products by conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics.
  4. Constructs prototypes, performs physical testing on engineering prototypes and confirms designs with the CEO
  5. Choose and interface with vendors for low cost and high performance.
  6. Conform with local, state, and company engineering standards.
  7. Design and implement manufacturing and maintenance policies.
  8. Using CAD and CAE software to design and oversee product blueprints.
  9. Writing and documenting reports on Military equipment and engineering records.
  10. Works closely with operations, manufacturing, and production engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacture.
  11. Develops mechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing
  12. manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators.
  13. Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  14. Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities, confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  15. Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  16. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations, industry and business standards.
  17. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following the manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services.
  18. Maintains system and product database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  19. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  20. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintaining and modifying equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable, and efficient.
  21. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars, and when required, generates minutes from design reviews.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned.
